Welcome to the guided tours and workshops of Barents Spektakel 2023!
Looking at art together with the possibility to ask questions, start conversations, and hear new and insightful reflections from those who have made the works will always give the experience an extra dimension. Join our art guiding team for a tour of the festival exhibition in the Old Fire Station and the Nomadic Base at Terminal B. During the weekend tours, the tour guides will be joined by the exhibition artists who contribute with their reflections and thoughts about their own works.
Our mediators:
Kristin Risan works with art mediation for children and young people throughout northern Norway. For more than 25 years, Kristin has been an art teacher at the Nordnorsk Kunstnersenter in Svolvær, Lofoten, and has among several projects developed the concept and production for “Den kulturelle skolesekken”. Many of our Kirkenes residents have probably already met her as a mediator during previous editions of Barents Spektakel. In recognition of her work with art mediation for children and young people, Kristin has received both cultural awards and the King's Medal of Merit.
Emma Gunnarsson
Emma is an artist, curator and communicator. In addition to her own artist practice, she runs Arctic Lux, which creates cultural events, festivals and workshops. She also works with mediation at the Nordkappmuseet in Honningsvåg. 2023 will be the fourth year that Emma has worked with Barents Spektakel as a mediator and art guide. During the festival, she will also lead workshops.
